Fernando Aguilera
Fernando began his martial arts training in Shotokan Karate with Sensei Hamid when he was seven years old. Ever since, it has been a huge part of his life. Throughout the years he has learned discipline, confidence and gained the courage to follow his dreams.
Throughout the years Fernando has participated in many competitions at the provincial, national, and international level in which he has gained a great deal of experience and knowledge. He continues to compete with the goal to become world champion. A few of his main competitive Karate achievements so far include:
Ranked 4th in the WKF World Rankings, U21 +84kg, 2020
- Top 7 in Junior World Championships, 2019
- Silver Medalist in Junior Pan American Championships, 2019
- Bronze Medalist in Canadian Senior National Championships, 2019
- 2 Time Silver Medalist in Junior Canadian National Championships, 2015, 2019
- 4 Time Bronze Medalist in Junior Canadian National Canadian Championships, 2016, 2017 (2), 2018
- Karate BC Junior Male Athlete of the Year 2020
- 2nd Dan (Degree) Black Belt
Training at Tiger’s Eye Karate-do has been a wonderful experience for Fernando and he has been able to make countless new friends as a result. Karate has given him the opportunity to travel to different places around the world to compete and gain highly valuable experience. Training Karate with Sensei Hamid has given him
high physical fitness, determination and mental strength that has helped him overcome many obstacles in his life. Fernando feels very lucky to be able to train at Tiger’s Eye Karate-do and considers his dojo as his own family. He enjoys being a Karate instructor
and finds fulfillment in having the opportunity to pass on what he has learned to others.
